***RELEASE NOTES FOR SOAP2***
This file documents changes made in each release of SOAP2, even minor ones during Beta testing.

The SOAP section is dedicated to support and comments. Please use it for any SOAP related issues.
Beta testing feedback is always welcome. Always send the MessageLog.txt file with your feedback. It is located in the SOAP2 Data directory.
A CrashReport.txt file is also generated when SOAP untimely crashes. It is located in the same directory as the MessageLog.txt file.
**April 2nd, 2026**
- Final Beta Release of SOAP2.
**April 28th, 2026**
- Support for index futures options (e.g. ES). More tests are needed for other futures even though the logic is in place.
**July 10th, 2026**
- Symbol Settings: the Alt Underlying field is now a locked dropdown (only real Watchlist underlyings selectable) instead of free text, to prevent invalid entries.
- Symbol Settings: the default OTM strike gap (used for Vertical Skew calculations) now scales with the symbol's own strike interval instead of a flat default, so it makes sense for both high- and low-priced underlyings (e.g. VIX vs SPX).
- Adding a new symbol to the Watchlist is now fully synced immediately: it appears right away in the symbol dropdown, its chain data and default settings load correctly, and the Watchlist is saved to disk automatically (previously required a separate manual Save).
- The "Add to Watchlist" symbol search now correctly resolves candidates with incomplete data from IB, and correctly recognizes Index (IND) symbols that also have listed futures (e.g. VIX).
- New: pressing **Delete** on a symbol in the Watchlist, or in the symbol search results, now also closes any open Options Analysis windows for that symbol. From the search results grid, Delete offers to fully remove the symbol, including its saved settings/chain files, with a confirmation prompt.
- New: pressing **Delete** on a row in the Live Watchlist disables that symbol for the current session only (closes its OAs, stops its data) without touching the saved Watchlist — a quick way to work with a reduced symbol list without affecting future sessions.
- New: the Live Watchlist now shows a **Last Update** column with the time of each row's most recent quote.
- Improved startup robustness: if the previously-selected default symbol is no longer in the Watchlist, SOAP now resets safely to SPY instead of getting stuck.
- Various stability fixes around adding/removing Watchlist symbols during a running session.

**July 26th, 2026**
- Going to initial release V1.0.0. All features are now implemented and tested, but more testing is always welcome.
**July 28th, 2026**
- Free trial period extended to October 1st, 2026.
- The SOAP2 website is now live, including a Tutorial section (video walkthroughs) and a direct installer download.
## Providing feedback / bug reports
There is a Troubleshooting section on the top left menu of the app that provides information on how to report issues.
Otherwise, send an email to the support email address below with as much information as possible to help us understand and reproduce the issue.
SMTP is supported in SOAP2, so you can send an email directly from the app with the relevant files attached.
However SMTP is specifically not required, you can also send an email with the relevant files attached from any email client.
SMTP is user dependent for security reasons, so if you have multiple users on the same machine, only the user with SMTP configured will be able to send emails directly from the app.
